This charming, classy boutique hotel is just across the street from the Marseille St Charles train station making it very convenient and yet is is not a run down “seedy” hotel that are often found near train stations. It was clean and of high standing including an elegant bar/lounge, a spa, a workout room and a meeting room. We used the spa and it was wonderful - 2 hrs for 15 euro per person and is limited to 6 people however we had the entire spa to ourselves. There is an atrium with skylights, a hamam, a sauna, a tropical shower, and a small jetted pool. there is a also a changing room and lockers. We had a room in the back and it was very QUIET, not what we would expect in a busy neighborhood of a large city! Breakfast was 15 euros per person and well worth it! The all you can eat buffet included scrambled eggs, beans, bacon; cereals; yogurts, pastries, juices, fruits, various types of coffees, tea, breads etc.

The hotel is very much within walking distance from the St Charles train station and metro stop. They also have a very comfortable Lounge area for guests to use after checking out of the room. We chose to eat breakfast at the last minute but they had plenty for everyone. Very nice pleasant courtyard between buildings to hang out. Toilet and bathroom are separate. There are dedicated parking spots (parking barriers unlocked by the front desk staff) in front of the hotel for short term loading/unloading.

Victoria is an amazing hotel manager. She offered fantastic recommendations for places to visit in Provence and has the perfect demeanor. Victoria was so helpful the day we checked in, with the spa arrangements ( great spa) and making us feel totally comfortable at Alex. We kept on saying how all the other hotels we stayed at on our trips needed a Victoria We also loved the hotel breakfast, our little balcony outdoor space and the sounds of the birds in the morning hours

Freya

We needed a stop off close to the station as we were getting in late at night and the hotel was perfect. Our room was cleverly designed, so our son could close some sliding doors to make his own bedroom within ours. The staff were very nice and the hotel is stylish. Late check out as standard was fantastic, and it felt more like a 4 star hotel.

Ian

Overall a cute stay, though the room was a little dark because of a small window: not a deal-breaker. The terrace for breakfast was really nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right near the Marseille Saint-Charles station so the location is perfect as a base to get around south of France—train traffic can't be heard.
